The Adventure Centre takes immense pride in helping students attain the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh International Expedition Awards at all three levels : Gold, Silver and Bronze. We provide the schools with all the necessary training & guidance and our qualified staff along with supervisors make sure that the expedition is safe. Checkpoints are always setup accompanied by support staff and assessors.
To make it a complete package we prepare students with adequate navigation, health & safety, camping, survival, environmental and risk assessment coaching and also provide reports of their development. We also offer participants with workplace experience as part of the requirements.
The Bronze Award helps students develop campcraft, navigation and survival skills in a 2-days / 1-night journey. They can either choose to pick a desert or mountain location and will always be accompanied by trained and experienced supervisors. Participants learn a plethora of new skills with a careful balance of instructions and independence. Maximum measures of safety are always followed and pre-departure meetings are conducted to make sure everyone is prepared.
The Silver Award is a step further into the spirit of adventure for students which pushes their skills, stamina and mindset in a 3-days / 2-nights journey. It involves 7 hours per day of expedition which takes participants further on more challenging terrain. Our trained staff are totally certified to assess qualifying journeys and provide an on-going report to students for their better development.
The Gold Award expedition is the pinnacle of adventure for participants. It is an enduring and extreme experience and requires commitment over the 12 month course, which ultimately leads to a 4-days / 3-nights expedition. The journey consists of 8 hours per day and takes students to some of the most remote, scenic and challenging destinations where their skills of navigation, survival, campcraft and knowledge of nature is tested. It is thus recognized by universities and organizations over the world.
